Oh Christmas Tree

Hi. I did these nails using the sponge technique where you ad the polish to the sponge in layers and then sponge it on top of a white base. That was the biggest pain in the ass and I will never do it that way again. I will do it my usual way of sponging each color on at a time and blending them together. Way less mess.

Then I added green dots in a pyramid style to create the tree and a brown square for a stump.

Lastly, I used glitter placement to add garland and a star.

I loved how these came out. They took quite a bit of time to do because of the glitter but, it was well worth it to have all that sparkle.

Colors I used:
Sinful Colors "Innocent" & "Amethyst"
Finger Paints ""It Baroque"
Essie "Play Date"
Wet n Wild Fergie "Hollywood Walk of Fame"

Snow Flakes

Well, I liked the snowflakes that I did on my daughter so much that I decided to use the stamp on myself. I had seen Pimp my Nails use the blue magnetic polish as a background on a recent post and I just had to try it out.

I love how these came out and I loved it even more because it was soooo simple. I added a little glitter accent in the middle of each visible flake. I used the same stamp in my last post BM 323. This has definately been my goto stamp for Christmas this year.

Reindeer & Snow Flakes

I Know! I have been slacking. I had done some other Christmas nails this month but no posting. What a bad bad blogger. They were nothing special though just some copy cat stuff.

Anyways,
I did these on my daughter last week. She has been wanting me to add bling to her nails. She has had this design for a week now and it still looks great. And YES she still has the gem on it. I am so proud of her. She doesn't bite her nails and I always have to file them down because she's not aloud to have long nails in gymnastics.

I used Bundle Monster Plate 323 and some holo glitter placement for the snowflakes.

Colors I used:

Orly "Blue Collar"
Finger Paints "It Baroque"
Sinful Colors "Snow me White"
Sinful Colors "Black on Black" China Glaze "Sunset Sail"

Nightmare Before Christmas

These are one of my faves. I did these last year around Christmas time because my daughter was in a group dance at school and they did it to the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack.

Last year I had done it without the stripes nail. I had seen a few other people have a black & white striped nail in their NBC art and I thought that it would add a little something more to this mani.

The stripes represent the shirt that Jack wears. The patchwork it from Sally's dress. Last year I did the curly hill on a blue background. I like the purple better cus it's more Halloweenish. I'm so mad that I can't find any pictures of the mani that I did last year.

Last year since it was around Christmas time I also added a Santa hat on top of Jacks head. jack was a bit different too. I had just a white circle as his head on top of a black base color. It is so weird to look back and see how much I have improved at nail art from just a year ago.

Inspired by Amber did it

I saw these on tumblr on amberdidit and I thought that they were way to simple and cute to pass up on doing. This mani is going to go great for this weekend considering my daughter has a Halloween themes gymnastics meet and her team is wearing purple leotards with a spider on it.

I will probably be doing this on a few people this Halloween.

Colors I used:

China Glaze "Liquid Leather" & "White on White"

How to do "Girly Mummies"

Here is a tutorial on how to do these so cute "Girly Mummies" I love these little gals. They are a way cute twist to the traditional Halloween Mummy Nail art.

Last year I did hot pink as a background to the mummies that everyone and their mom was doing.
These were simple to do beside the bow. That was probably the most technical part. If you have fimo bows this would be a cool way to use them. I wanted to give the mummies a vintage look by creating a marble look using the Saran wrap technique. Get Nailed shows you how to do that here.

Well here's how to do them:

Step 1:
Paint your nails a bright pink color

Step 2:
Using a saran wrap technique add a lavender color on top of your pink

Step 3:
With a black striper add lines to created a weave-like pattern

Step 4:
With a black polish use the polish brush to draw a thick line across the lower part of your nail.
Then with a large dotting tool add large white dots close to each other in the center of the black bands.

Step 5:
With a white striper add a small bow at the corner above each band. Add a white dot in the center of each bow.

Step 6:
With black polish and a dotting tool add small black dots inside of each white dot to create eyes

Step 7:
With a stirper add an outline to define the bows.
Step 8:
Finally, clean up around the cuticles and add a top coat...and then you're done!

Colors I used:

China Glaze "Beauty Within", "Liquid Leather" & "White on White"
Sally Hansen "Lacy Lilac"
So easy Strip Rite "White", "Black"

Halloween Nail s Inspired by "I have a Cupcake" on You Tube

Hello Hello. After looking at other Halloween Nail Art online I came across these way too cute "monsters" done by, "ihaveacupcake". She is on You Tube with a tutorial on how to do these little guys. I absolutely love them and I probably will do them on everyone I know this Halloween.

My mom came over today and I did the full set on her except I substituted the Black Kitty for a Black Widow. I was a little disappointed by how the skeleton came out. the eyes look more like alien eyes. Oh well. I'll get it better next time. I also went with a Pink One Eyed Monster instead of a green one .

I decided to venture out a little more. I only did one monster on my ring nail. The other nails are simple polka dots and stripes with a bow. I love how these came out. They are so darn cute!.

Halloweeny

1st Day of Halloween! This is my first Halloweeny Mani of the season. I was happy with how this came out I'm just frustrated because I bought this base and top coat system from QVC and it suppose to help your nails polish last longer and make your nails longer and stronger. I won't ever be able to find out if this system works because it takes FOREVER to dry. My manis get messed up and the polish from my tips gets worn off before it dries so they aren't protected then. I think I'm just gonna stick to my Seche Vite.

Day 30: Inspired by a Tutorial

After looking at a bunch of nail art tutorial videos on You Tube I finally decided to do these cute little Owls from Renierainyday. I went along with the colors that she used and added a couple of contrasting colored owls as accent fingers. These were so easy to do and look way cute. I will definitely be doing these again this fall.

It has been 30 Days now since I started this challenge and just now realized that it was changed to a 30 day challenge because there are only 30 days in the month.

I am such a goof. lol. Well this is it. I have completed the 31 day challenge even though it was only 30 days. I am so happy that is over now. I had fun doing a bunch of art that I been meaning to do and looking at everyone else's post was very inspirational and I will totally be motivated for the next couple of months with different thing to try.

Day 29: Inspired by the Supernatural

So, Today I decided to go with the holier side of the supernatural because in a couple of days I will be starting to do Halloween nail art for the month of October. I went with the logo NOTW also known as "Not of this world" because it's Christian and who else is more supernatural that Jesus.

NOTW is displayed in many art formats but, I decided to go with the traditional format and ad it on the top of 2 of my favorite colors, Magenta and Teal. I did the teal first then sponged the magenta on top. the teal took a little of the magenta color away and turned it into a more purple color. I still Love it though. Because the colors were kinda dark I did a white shadow on the black lettering to make it stand out more.

Colors I used:

Santee "Beach Blue"
Nina "Violet it Ride"

Day 28: Inspired by a flag

Hello, Hello

Today I was inspired by the Mexican flag. Because I am 100% Mexican, I thought that I should represent today for my people. I am American born and raised and have represented my country of the USA in many of my nail posts. So, I am glad to have this challenge today to show off my Mexicaness.

For those of you who don't know what the Mexican flag looks like here it is.

Colors I used:

Sinful colors "Snow me White", "Innocent", "Pull over"
Santee "Cappuccino"
OPI "No room for the Blues"" & "in my back pocket"
China Glaze "High Roller" & "Starboard"

Day 27: Inspired by Artwork

Hello. Today I was inspired by the Dutch artwork called "De Stijl" translated in English, "The Style"

I did this in an earlier post when I was doing the Wah Nail Art book challenge of mine. This is one of the tutorial that they had featured in their book. I had done it then with the colors that they said to use in the book. This time I wanted tot add a twist by substituting the primary colors with neon colors.

I am so happy with the way that these came out. I know summer is over but, it is still sunny in California so we are aloud to still spot some neons. I have had a few compliments on these today so, that confirms my OK to wear them.

Colors I used:
Sinful Colors "Snow me White"
Nina "Fuchsia Rage" & "Solar Flare"
Santee "Bleach Blue"

Day 26: Inspired by a pattern

For today I decided to go with the pattern of plaid. I love plaid and fall us the prefect season for it. I also love this color, that's why I'm using it again.

Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

Today's nail challenge is inspired by IKAT print. This pattern has been way hot this year. I love this pattern because it is so simple to do and you can get away with mess-ups. I decided to go with one of my fave color schemes. I hope you like it.

Colors I used:

Orly "Shockwave"
Nina :Violet Ride"

Day 24: Inspired by a book

Hi, Sorry for the late post. I did the green eggs and ham from the Dr. Seuss book. I have this book memorized. LOL. I also love reading it to my kids. It was pretty simple to do because the drawings in the book are a bit sketchy so the little wisps that were mistakes actually make tit look authentic.

Colors I used:

OPI "In my back Pocket"
Sinful Colors "Snow me White"
So Easy "Black" & "White"

Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

There are two reasons why I decided to do this mani. First, my kids and I was actually watching The Hunger Games as I did my mani and typed this out, and Second I bought this GOLD polish a few weeks ago and have not used it in any of my posts yet.

I already did Hunger Games nails with the flames on tumblr but, never dis Effie's nails from the movie when she was reading the names of the contenders at the reaping. This is my replica of her mani. My Magenta didn't come out as dark as it is in real life but the gold sparkles are amazing if I say so myself.

Colors I used:
Sinful Colors "Dream on"
Real gold "22kt Gold Glitter"

Day 22: Inspired by a song

Today I was inspired by the song "Purple Rain" by Prince.
I've been wanting to do rain droplets on my nails but I just never got around to it.

First I painted my nails with a dark purple (I originally wanted to do it on black but, Purple went with today's theme) Then I added a coat of "Matte Magic". Once that was dry I got some old Seche Vite and used it to create the drops. The older SV is thicker and makes better drops that create texture. That's it!. So Simple and So Cool.

Colors I Used:

Sinful Colors :Amethyst"
China Glaze "Matte Magic"
Seche Vite Top Coat

Day 21: Inspired by a color

This will be a short post today. Sorry, no polish names. I decided to go with blue today only because tomorrow my daughter has another meet and as you know if you've read my earlier posts, the team colors are light blue and regular blue. I did today a blue glitter fade on top of a light blue.
Nuff said.

Day 20: Water Marble

OMG! I cannot believe that this actually came out good. I only have been successful ONCE with water marble. I was in such a hurry again this morning when I did this and I think that the Water Marble Gods were being nice to me because it came out AWESOME! I wasn't even gonna try to do all of my nails. I added some silver swipes which made it look really cool. I think I'm going to be trying water marble soon after the challenge. I think I'm falling in love with this technique.

Colors I used:

Finger Paints "Pretty as a Portrait"
China Glaze "Liquid Leather"
OPI "Oh Waiter"
Sinful Colors "Snow me White"
So Easy Striper in Silver

Day 19: Galaxies

This is a late Post. Yesterday was galaxies. Although I did do these in the morning, I didn't have a chance to post these. So, I went with purple and rainbowish galaxies today. The half moons had galaxies in them so I thought that I would change the color from them instead of the traditional black/blue background.
Instead of adding white dots for the stars I went with patches of chunky glitter that had small and big pieces to give it that cluster effect. It was way easier than dotting on stars and I love the way that they turned out.

Colors I used:
China Glaze "VIII"
OPI "Fly"
Sinful Colors "Innocent"
Essie "Mod Square"
Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow"
Icing "Frost Yourself"

Day 18: Half Moon

Hello Hello. Today's Challenge is the half moon. I am not really good at doing half moons cus my lines always come out messy and I don't like the way that they look. I know I can go get some reinforcement stickers but, I always forget and I don't have any just laying around.

Anyways...

Today I wanted to try out the half moons that I was so fascinated with from The Daily Nail. Hers are totally amazing. As for mine they're just OK. I also had the idea in my head of doing a half sun on top of the clouds that I did on Day 5 : Blue Nails. This too came out just OK. I think that if I would have had a bit more time to focus on them instead of making sandwiches and grabbing socks, that they would have came out a bit better. Oh well. I love my kids.

So That's it!

Colors I used:

OPI "Oh Waiter', "Fly", & "No Room for the Blues"
Sinful Colors "Pull Over", "Soul Mate", & "Snow me White"
Pure Ice "French Kiss"
Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow" & Wet Cement"
China Glaze " Liquid Leather"

Day 17: Glitter

Yay Glitter! I was kinda happy for today's Challenge because what I had in mind was sticking straight to glitter. I could have added some stamping or some kind of art but no, this is what I went with.

I originally wanted to have some glitter placement designs but, I ran out of time. Having to place all of the accent nail's glitter was enough work for one morning. I had to get the kiddos off to school so, I stopped there. Glitter placement is tedious work!

I always LOVE how it comes out. So, it is well worth the work. It's unfortunate that I have to take this off tonight in order to continue with the Challenge. OH Well.

As you can see I did an indoor and outdoor shot of these because I wanted to catch how awesome the glitter sparkles. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful. These photos don't give the sparkle of the glitter any Justice.

Colors I used:

Essie "Big Spender"
Orly "Bubbly Bombshell'
Clare's "Disco"

Day 16: Tribal

OMG. The Challenge is like 1/2 way now. Today I was happy that I was able to incorporate blue into the theme because as I said in my last post 5 minutes ago , my daughter had a gymnastics meet today and the team colors are blue and light blue.

I did a gradient of 3 shades of blue and did a tribal on top of that with black and white using striped and dots.

Colors I used:

OPI "No room for the Blues"
China Glaze "Ride the Waves"
Pure Ice "French Kiss"

Day 15: Delicate

OOPS. This is another late post. I was just not in the mood to post yesterday and today I was at my daughter gymnastics meet. BTW she got 4th on beam and scored an overall of 34 and qualified for sectionals.

Anyways the only thing that I could think of as delicate was lace on a pastel color. I was gonna go with pink but, in the end went with a light plum. I looked at different pattern and tutorials online and this is what I came up with.

Colors I used:

Essie "Splash of Grenadine"
Sinful Colors "Snow me White"
