Day 20: Graphic Stripe

I had to use this magenta glitter that I am in love with. It matches my toes and a shirt that I am wearing today for my son's preschool graduation.

Stripes can be a challenge if you don't have a steady hand. Some people use striper brushes with regular nail polish. I find that using the Stripe rite nail art polishes are the easiest for me..

I had to add an extra black stripe next to the magenta that's on top of my half moon because I could get the line in magenta neat enough.

To get that color I used a magenta polish and then added the magenta sparkles on top.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "Dream on"

Pure Ice "Jaguar"

Orly "Bubbly Bombshell"

China Glaze "Liquid leather"

Stripe Rite "Black" & "White"

Day 19: De Stijl

This is a definite on my to do re-do list. I had tries this before on a nail wheel. It was much harder to do on fingernails because of trying to get those edges without painting my whole finger.

This  Dutch pattern can probably be done in different colors but it's known for the use of primary colors.

Next time I do this I will make sure not to let the yellow touch the red. That was a distinct error that I had made. I didn't realize it until after I started doing the black stripes.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "Snow me White" & " Ruby Ruby"

Sally Hansen's " Pacific Blue" & " Mellow Yellow"

Stripe Rite "Black"

Day 18: Eyeball

I was so in love with my nails yesterday that I couldn't bare to take them off. I waited till the last minute to paint these Eyeballs on my nails last night. That's why I am posting it today. I wanted to keep my Day 17 Drippy nails on until they chipped and of course they stayed beautiful all day. I was so sad when the acetone hit my finger nails and my hard work was wiped away.

These are cool... if it's Halloween. I couldn't walk with these around yesterday. I did them late at night and then took them off after I took pictures of them. I would definitely use these in October though. They do look pretty cool.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "Snow me White"

Sally Hansen's "Pacific Blue"

Stripe rite "Red"

Day 17: Drippy

Today's post is on "Drippy" nails. This look is definitely a cool one. I did this a second time this morning because I wasn't happy with the way they came out the first time.

The first time I tried it I thought that I would use this new nail art pen/art brush that I bought at an indoor swap meet last week. I thought that it would be easier with the pen side to do the drips instead of using the Stripe Rite brushes that I use for most of my art. WRONG! the paint in the pens is really thick and it just was messy. I kept scratching my base color and it would let out too much paint or too little. It wasn't consistent at all.

So, my second time around I decided to use the striper with a dotting tool and the brush from the polish bottle. It took some time to get it as perfect as I wanted it. I'm sure if I keep practicing the drips that they will get easier with time.

The first picture I took was indoor and I thought that my flash didn't do this awesome color justice so, I took an outdoor pic and as you can see the color just pops off of the color of my skin. I love it.

I am very happy with the way these came out today. I will be sad to take them off tomorrow.

Colors I used:

Julie G "Bikini"

China Glaze "Liquid Leather"

Black Striper

Day 14-16

I wasn't able to make any posts the past couple days... I was just so busy. My daughter had a gymnastics meet and my home was getting fumigated today. So, I have 3 posts in 1 today.

This is Day 14: Zebra

I have done Zebra in so many ways except in its' natural state. So, I decided to follow the book and do it in white. Very simple.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "Snow me White"

Black Striper

Day 15: Bows

This is so darn cute! I followed the colors in the book on this one too because I just loved the look.
Even though you can place the bow anywhere I liked the look of it on the tips for this mani.

Colors I used:

Sally Hansen "Fairy Teal"

Nina Ultra Pro (The label fell off) Sorry

Black & White Striper

Day 15: Roses

This is something that I just learned to do a couple of months ago. I don't know why I never tried to do roses but, they are so easy and look amazing. maybe I was intimidated because they look like they're hard to do.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "Snow me White", "Ruby Ruby", "Pink Forever"

Maybelline "Iced Queen"

Millani nail art "Green Sketch"

Black Striper

Day 13: SHATTER

Day 13: In the Wah Nail Art Book they call this design is called "Shatter". Although their polish is called "Smash-Up". WAH Nails has their own line of "Wah Nail"polishes under Models Own brand.

I don't own any of their polishes because I would have to order them online because I don't know of any stores that would carry them.

Anyways, I have the OPI Shatter brand but, it's all chunky. I didn't feel like spending $8 on a new bottle of OPI or China Glaze because there are so many other brands out here for a fraction of the price and they all work exactly the same. I ended up buying Maybelline Color Show "Shredded" a few weeks ago at Walmart for $2. It worked out perfectly on today's mani.

Colors I used:

Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow"

Santee "Beach Clue"

Maybelline Color Show Shredded "Carbon Frost"

Day 12: Stained Glass

This is way cool! I am so glad I was able to do this so early because, now I can wear it all day.

This is the "Stained Glass look" and I love it. It was easy and I get to use all of my favorite summer colors.

This challenge has been a real challenge to keep up with. I am glad I am doing it but when you have a cute mani and it hasn't chipped and you have to take it off it's a real bummer.

Colors I used:

Orly "La Vida Loca"

Santee "Beach Blue"

Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow"

Sinful Colors " Innocent"
