Day 10: Gradient Nails

For today's Gradient nails I wanted to go outside of the nail box and incorporate something into a gradient. Simple flowers is what I came up with. I originally was gonna go with one primary color but, I couldn't decide. therefore, I went with an array of gradient Flowers.

I had done flowers like these in a post I did on tumblr.

Colors I used:
( In order from Thumb to Pinkie)

Essie "Mod Square"& "Big Spender"
Finger Paints "Pretty as a Portrait"
Sally Hansen "Lacy Lilac"
Essie "Splash of Grenadine"
Sinful Colors "Amethyst"
Sinful Colors "Luminary"
OPI "In my back Pocket"
Loreal"Tangerine Crush"
Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow" & "Green with Envy"
China Glaze "Starboard"
OPI "No room for the Blues"
Ice "French Kiss"
Sinful Colors "Rain Storm'
Sinful Colors "Pull Over" & "Snow me White"
So Easy Stripe rite "Green"

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

Today for Rainbow nails I wanted to recreate a design a saw a while back on tumblr. When I saw this I tried to track it back to its' source and the furthest I could find said that this was photo shopped. This had thousands of notes on it. When I went back today to try to find it, I couldn't. I googled neon leopard nail art and it came up and when I clicked on the source it didn't exist anymore.

Anyways...

All it really is is different neons with a black leopard print and a matte top coat.

Colors I used:
Ultra Pro "Fuchsia Rage" & "Solar Flare"
Sinful Colors "Dream on"
Santee "Bleach blue"
Sally Hansen "Green with envy"
Julie G "Bikini"
Ice "French Kiss"
China Glaze "Matte Magic"

Checker Rainbow

I've been wanting to do this design for a while. It is just such a process. I decided to shoe how I did it just to make it an even longer process for me. Ha Ha.

For someone who has the larger checker stamping plates and is good at lining up the stamp to be even then I would suggest that. For those like me who don't have the larger plate and even if they did would drive themselves crazy trying to line it up perfectly then you could do what I did and paint the checks on.

This is what I used:

Dotting Tool
Black Stripe Rite
Black Acrylic paint diluted with water about 50%
Neon Pink, Yellow, Magenta and Turquoise
White Polish

Colors I used:

Ultra Pro fuchsia rage, solar flare, & punkie purple
Santee beach blue
Sinful Colors snow me white

Step 1
Paint your nails white. I like to clean up in between layers.

Step 2
Paint thick diagonal stripes starting from the top corner and shifting to middle and end for each nail.

Step 3
Add a thick turquoise diagonal stripe above the pink, leaving space for the yellow.

Step 4
Add the yellow this time overlapping the pink and turquoise tho create an orange and green and give it a rainbow affect. Then add a little magenta where possible in between the pink and turquoise.

Step 5

With the stiper make thin even lines going down and then across. The thinner the better.

Step 6

With your dotting tool and acrylic paint fill in every other square to create your checker pattern. You can use a tooth pick or the really pointy end of the dotting tool to get into the little corner.
Then wait a few minutes for the black to dry, clean up around the nail, and top off with your fave top coat. Mine is Seche Vite.
