Olympics 2012

I am so excited about the Olympics!. I am a real gymnastics fan and that is probably what I am most excited about. This mani is dedicated to The USA Gymnastics Teams. I can't wait!.

My Thumb has the Olympic rings along with 2012 written above them. I tried using a brush for this design. After failing miserably twice I decided to do the tooth pick method. It turned out OK after having to clean up a little with some white polish.

I had to have the US flag to represent my lovely country. Along with the British flag because the games are in London this year.

Because Gymnastics is my favorite thing from the Olympics I did the USA Gymnastics symbol on my ring finger.

My pinkie finger has the gold medal that every country wants with this year's purple ribbon.

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, Pull Over, Amethyst, Savage, Snow me White, & Black on Black

China Glaze Starboard

Pure Ice French Kiss & Jaguar

Stripe Rite Red , White, Black & Blue

Emoticons

Hadn't seen anyone do these so I thought I would try them out. They only lasted a few hours because I went to the beach and they peeled off after building a sand castle and playing in the water.

Colors I Used:

Salyy Hansen "mellow yellow"

Loreal "tangerine crush"

OPI "fly" ( for the tear)

Stripe Rite "black, white, & red"

Checker Rainbow

I've been wanting to do this design for a while. It is just such a process. I decided to shoe how I did it just to make it an even longer process for me. Ha Ha.

For someone who has the larger checker stamping plates and is good at lining up the stamp to be even then I would suggest that. For those like me who don't have the larger plate and even if they did would drive themselves crazy trying to line it up perfectly then you could do what I did and paint the checks on.

This is what I used:

Dotting Tool
Black Stripe Rite
Black Acrylic paint diluted with water about 50%
Neon Pink, Yellow, Magenta and Turquoise
White Polish

Colors I used:

Ultra Pro fuchsia rage, solar flare, & punkie purple
Santee beach blue
Sinful Colors snow me white

Step 1
Paint your nails white. I like to clean up in between layers.

Step 2
Paint thick diagonal stripes starting from the top corner and shifting to middle and end for each nail.

Step 3
Add a thick turquoise diagonal stripe above the pink, leaving space for the yellow.

Step 4
Add the yellow this time overlapping the pink and turquoise tho create an orange and green and give it a rainbow affect. Then add a little magenta where possible in between the pink and turquoise.

Step 5

With the stiper make thin even lines going down and then across. The thinner the better.

Step 6

With your dotting tool and acrylic paint fill in every other square to create your checker pattern. You can use a tooth pick or the really pointy end of the dotting tool to get into the little corner.
Then wait a few minutes for the black to dry, clean up around the nail, and top off with your fave top coat. Mine is Seche Vite.

4th of July

I know!... This is how lazy I've been. I did this last week and was too lazy to post it. This is what I wore to the park on the 4ht of July. I was gonna post this a few days before but never got around to it. I'm lucky I even tool a picture.

I attempted the tape method again on the thumb and it obviously did not work out. So, I free handed it again.

The stars on my pointer are stamped on and the studs on my pinky are micro studs and holo paint are from fabulousstreet.com

Colors I used:

Sinful Colors "ruby ruby" & "Snow me white"

Pure Ice "french kiss"

NfuOh "#61"

China Glaze "ruby pumps"

Striper "Silver Glitter, Red , White, & Blue"

Bundle Monster Plate #14

Random on Pink

This was another from my mental block phase

I really wanted to use this pink as a base because I am so in love with it. I also been wanting to use my holo polish so I accented the middle and pinky nail with it.

This was totally random and I was just going with the flow.

Colors I used:

Orly "la vida loca"

OPI "fly"

China Glaze "liquid leather"

Pure Ice "love"

Sinful Colors "snow me white"

Purple & Bolts

It's been a looong time since my last post. I guess it took me a while to get over that challenge. Believe it or not I just had a Nail Art Mental Block and couldn't think of what to do on my nails anymore. I was still painting, I just was never happy with the outcomes.

This is one I did during that period. I tried using the tape method and it didn't work out for me. I guess I'm just to lazy or impatient. I wanted to use my new polish that day. I had been looking for a good lavender and was so happy when I found this one. In order to make it a little more "summery" I added the magenta color.

Colors I used:

Essie "jamaica me crazy" (magenta)

Essie "play date" (lavender)

Striper Black & White
